I am currently working through some issues at my work place, so I thought what a good time to address this. I am not happy where I am at and have some issues with a co-worker that makes it hard to come to work.
We all have bad days at work and count the hours until we are done. On Monday we wish for Wednesday so we know the week is half over. On Wednesday we wish for Friday as then our week is completed. Then on Sunday you dread Monday as you have to start all over again. So what can you do to help fix it?
Some things I am trying out is think positive thoughts throughout the day. Maybe read some positive quotes. I also have pictures of my kids as well as nieces and nephews. I like to look at the smiles on their faces to help get me through a rough moment. If you don’t work at a desk carry a picture in your pocket and take it out and look at it as needed.
Take deep breaths – this may not make the situation go away but it will help to calm you down. Get away for a few minutes. Take your break or lunch to get out of the office and get a breath of fresh air or change your environment for a few moments. If you are not able to leave work, take a few minutes to go to the restroom just to have a few moments to yourself and to give yourself a timeout.
Try to focus on the good things about your job or the people you work with. Sometimes it is the little things you have to look at to find something good. Like a project you got complemented on, a pat on the back you received, or a friendly co-worker.
Get the negative out whether you have to vent on a friend or keep a journal. Just try your best not to let it build up to the point that you explode.
If none of these things are helping you then it may be time to go down the road to the next venture in your life.
I hope some of these things will help you. Do you have any tips you would like to share with me? I would love to hear them.
Thanks for listening to me ramble.
Welcome to Friendship Friday – a week-long event where you can:

This is hosted by Create with Joy and thought it may be fun to join in. I have posted the link above so you can check it out as well.
This week’s question is what are your blogging goals?
My goal for this blog is to help myself and others to become more positive thinking by a variety of ways. I am hoping to turn over a new leaf by doing this. My wish/goal is to become more creative with my writing as I go along.
What are your goals? Please share them as well as your blog with me.
This is the time of the year that everyone likes to set goals for themselves. I am not generally one to do that. To me I think why set yourself up to fail, no I don’t mean to say that you are a failure, it just means that people tend to set goals for themselves that are not realistic.
It seems most of the goals I set for myself are usually book related. I want to sign up for every challenge that I see. To most people books are boring and don’t mean much to them, well not me. Books are my life as I like to say. If you see me you will usually see a book. I never leave home without it as the old saying goes. When I see a challenge for reading books my eyes glass over and I think ooh a shiny new toy and in my mind I can do this. Well I am not a fast reader and no matter how much I try I won’t be able to do all the challenges I want to. Unfortunately I have to work to pay those pesky bills, eat and to buy more books. This year I have limited myself to three challenges and I can combine them so I am confident I will climb my personal mountain all the way to the top. Well that is my book goal for the year.
I also have a personal goal to achieve this year and I am bound and determined I am going to do it. My personal goal this year is to be more positive. I have a calender that is kind of like a journal and each day I am going to write down something positive. It can be as little as a saying or quote or something as large as a kind act done to me or by me. There is no limit and some days may be better than others and have more than one thing written down. I have another lady/friend doing this as well and I hope she will continue to help me stay on track and provide the encouragement I may need some days.
So how about you? Do you have any goals that you would like to set this year? Have you completed a goal in the past you want to share? How about some tips for keeping yourself on track? I would love to hear from you.
* I know some of this may be repeated from the first post and apologize for that. I had this post all written when I started my blog and then realized I left it at work. I just went back to work today so I was able to get it and share it with you all.
My positive thought for today – I am happy my dad is doing better after this back surgery then he did after the first one.
This first post is going to be a quick one for me. I am taking a leap and trying a few new things. The first being that I am trying a blog on wordpress, so if things look a little wonky please give me time to learn all the new things here.
Second, I want to try to focus on being more positive this year. I hope to do this in a few ways. I would like to think of a positive thought or saying each day to help keep me in a better frame of mind. Another way I want to stay positive is to write down memories or stories from my childhood that are good to me. I will be sharing some of these stories here in the future. One thing I have always wanted to try to do is to keep a journal, this will be my journal of sorts. If I have something I want to talk about I will be posting here and hoping to get feedback as to what your thoughts are. I don’t want this site to become a place to come and complain I would like to try and stay upbeat that way if I am having a bad day I can come here to change things about the day.
I look forward to this new journey and hope to see some of you join me along the way.
