Spring is on the way!

It has been a little while since I have posted anything and I apologize for that. I decided to jump in today and post along with all the other fun blogs on Friendship Friday. The theme today is spring.

Spring is a time when all things start new. The grass starts coming up, flowers are planted, gardens started, animals have their young and much more. If you live in a part of the country where you have had lots of cold and snow you look forward to spring because you know the warmer temperatures are on their way.

Spring is a beautiful time of year so I am going to share a few pictures that I have found.

It is always fun to watch the flowers bloom and plants come alive.

There are also a few holidays that are celebrated in Spring. The big one and most meaningful would be Easter. Easter is a time of celebrating rebirth and a time for families to get together. When we think of Easter we also think of bunnies and lambs so I thought I would share a few more cute pictures.

Another holiday that is celebrated but forgotten by many is May Day. I remember when I was little making making May Day baskets and then we would put them on my aunt’s doorstep knock on the door and then run so she had to try and catch us. We used to always make May Day baskets in school. I think this is something that is now lost to many. I would like to see this come back as a way to celebrate friendship.

May Day Baskets can have as much or as little as you want in them and you can be creative in making them. Here is a link for you to learn a little more behind the history of May Day http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_Day

What does Spring mean for you? What are you looking forward to in the coming season?

I would like to hear how you celebrate Spring.

Be sure to stop by Friendship Friday to find some more great blogs to follow. Here is the link for you: http://www.create-with-joy.com/2013/03/friendship-friday-ring-in-spring.html
